Playlists define the normal rotation. AutoDJ Studio lets you make immediate programming changes from the cloud library while that rotation and your listener stream continue running.
Scheduled playlists define the rotation
Your normal AutoDJ playlists continue to supply music according to the schedule and rules you have already configured. You do not need to stop or rebuild that programming when you want to make a temporary change.
The live queue handles immediate decisions
Search the cloud library and insert selected tracks ahead of the normal rotation. When the manual queue finishes, AutoDJ automatically returns to scheduled programming.
Play any track next
Search by title, artist or filename and send a track directly to the highest available manual queue position. The track already on air continues normally before the selected item begins.
Build the timeline visually
Drag tracks into a precise position, reorder upcoming items and remove a selection while it remains editable. The displayed order represents the sequence AutoDJ will follow.
Know when it will play
Use track durations and estimated start times to see when each queued item should reach the air and when scheduled AutoDJ rotation is expected to resume.
Protect prepared transitions
Once AutoDJ has prepared an upcoming item, it becomes locked. This prevents a last-second edit from interrupting the transition or leaving the stream without prepared audio.
Turn requests into programming
Review listener requests beside the live workspace, place an accepted request next or add it to the manual queue, then mark it as handled.
Return to normal rotation
Manual choices temporarily take priority; they do not replace your schedule. After the inserted tracks play, AutoDJ continues with the programmed rotation automatically.

Practical answers about browser voice-over, DJ access, queue control and live broadcasting.
Can I speak live over AutoDJ from my browser?
Yes. On an Icecast service using MP3 or AAC-LC, an authorized DJ can select a microphone and start a live voice-over directly from AutoDJ Studio. No desktop encoder is required.
What happens to the music while I speak?
Your microphone is mixed with the AutoDJ output on the server. You can lower the music automatically with ducking or mute it while speaking, and use push-to-talk for short interventions. The queue remains active and normal AutoDJ playback continues when the voice session ends.
What do I need to use browser voice-over?
You need an Icecast station with AutoDJ running, an MP3 or AAC-LC output, a modern browser over HTTPS and permission to access the microphone. HE-AAC voice-over is not supported. A headset is recommended to prevent echo and feedback.
Can two DJs use voice-over at the same time?
No. A station accepts one active browser voice session at a time to protect the broadcast mix. Other presenters are told that the microphone is occupied, while a station administrator can end an abandoned or unauthorized session.
What happens if the browser closes or the connection drops?
AutoDJ Studio monitors the voice session continuously. If the browser stops responding or the server-side mixer exits, the stale session is closed automatically and the station returns to the normal AutoDJ output.
Can I use AutoDJ Studio on my phone or tablet?
Yes. Use a supported mobile browser to search the cloud media library, use Play Next, review listener requests and monitor the queue and playback history. Microphone use depends on the device, browser support and microphone permission.
Can DJs have separate accounts and permissions?
Yes. Create individual DJ identities and independently allow AutoDJ access, queue and request management, browser voice-over, external encoding and private media uploads. Each presenter only sees the tools and media made available to that account.
What is the difference between voice-over and an external encoder?
Browser voice-over is designed for fast links, announcements and talk segments over the running AutoDJ output. External encoder access is intended for a complete live show sent from broadcasting software. Both features require the corresponding DJ permission, and per-DJ external encoder routing requires Icecast.
Do I need an encoder to put a track on air?
No. Choose a file already stored in your cloud library and AutoDJ Studio places it directly into the server-side AutoDJ queue. The audio is not uploaded or routed through your computer during playback.
What happens when I click Play Next?
The track enters the highest available manual queue position. AutoDJ prepares it for uninterrupted playback after the item already on air, then returns to the normal rotation when the manual queue is complete.
Can every queued item be moved or removed?
You can reorder or remove items while they remain in the editable manual queue. Once AutoDJ has prepared an item for playback, it is locked to protect the transition and uninterrupted output.
Can listener requests be managed from AutoDJ Studio?
Yes. Authorized DJs can review incoming requests, place an accepted request into the manual queue and mark it as handled. Requests work alongside Play Next and the station's normal rotation.
Does it work with both SHOUTcast and Icecast?
Cloud media, queue control, listener requests and AutoDJ playback work with both platforms. Browser voice-over and per-DJ external encoder routing require Icecast; browser voice-over supports MP3 and AAC-LC output.
Is AutoDJ Studio an extra paid add-on?
No. AutoDJ Studio is included with every current RadioDJ Live and AutoDJ streaming plan.
